Terms of Service

Last updated: 29 October 2026

These terms apply to your use of https://somahaus.co.uk and any order you place with The Survival Shop ("we", "us"). Business address: Monkton, Prestwick, KA9 1UP, United Kingdom. Contact us via our contact page. Please also read our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and Shipping Policy, which form part of these terms.

1. Who can order

We sell to customers with a UK delivery address. You must be 18 or over to place an order.

2. Orders and contract

Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we email to confirm dispatch. We may decline or cancel an order (for example if an item is out of stock, a price was clearly wrong, or age verification fails); if we do, we will refund you in full.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). Delivery charges are shown at checkout before you pay. Payment is taken at checkout.

4. Products

We aim to describe and picture products accurately. Minor differences in colour or packaging may occur. Shelf life, best-before dates and specifications are as stated by the manufacturer.

5. Age-restricted products

Some products, including knives and bladed tools, are only sold to customers aged 18 or over. By ordering them you confirm you are 18 or over. We may ask for age verification at checkout and the delivery company may check ID on delivery; if verification fails, the order will be cancelled and refunded. You are responsible for carrying and using these items lawfully. Carrying a bladed or pointed article in a public place without good reason or lawful authority is an offence.

6. Safety and use of outdoor gear

Outdoor, survival, climbing, fire-lighting, water-treatment and first aid products must be used strictly in line with the manufacturer's instructions and warnings. Climbing, rope-access and other safety-critical equipment should only be used by people who have received appropriate training or are properly supervised, and should be inspected before each use. Outdoor activities carry inherent risks. Nothing on our website is professional, medical or safety training. This does not limit our responsibility for products that are faulty, unsafe or not as described.

7. Cancellations, returns and faulty goods

Your rights to cancel and return goods, and your rights for faulty goods, are set out in our Refund Policy and in law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

8. Our liability

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses. We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any breach of your legal rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

9. Website content

Content on this site (text, images, logos and design) belongs to us or our licensors and may not be copied without permission.

10. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control. If this happens we will contact you, and you may cancel for a refund of anything you have paid for goods not received.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Scots law and disputes may be brought in the courts of Scotland. If you live in England and Wales or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of the law where you live.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The version on this page when you place your order applies to that order.
