Collection: Fire Starting

Fire Starting

Being able to light a stove or a fire in damp, windy weather is a core camping and bushcraft skill. This collection covers blade-free fire starters: a ferro rod with its own striker, keyring-size magnesium fire starters and a bushcraft kit with a ferro rod, tinder and bellows. Strike counts and other figures are shown on each product page as the maker states them. Carry more than one way to light a fire, and keep it dry in a sealed bag. Only light fires where you are allowed to, which usually means a designated site or with the landowner's permission, and never in dry spells when the fire risk is high. Use a fire pit or existing fire ring, keep water to hand and make sure the fire is out and cold before you leave. Browse more in bushcraft.
